Airport / Your Riad
Airport transfer to the riad and visit to the famous Jamaâ El Fna square.
Strolling around Jamaâ El Fna square is something unique. You are in a place that concentrates all the life and activity of the south: dancers, story-tellers, jugglers, craftsmen, merchants and snake charmers. From some of the café balconies you take in an ample panoramic view over the city and admire mosques and minarets, palaces and gardens, souks and bazaars.
*Bed and breakfast at the riad
Breakfast and guided tour around Marrakesh, the ‘Red City’, with a local guide. Omar Sharif and Alain Delon are just two of the famous people to have lived here. A seductive city which the country itself is named after. The city’s origins are uncertain but it is generally accepted that it started out as a military encampment set up in 1070 by the Almoravid chieftain, Abu Bakr. His successor, Yusuf ibn Tashfin began the task of transforming what was just a simple oasis into a capital city worthy of his empire which stretched from the Atlantic Ocean to Algeria and from the Sahara desert to the river Ebro.
The Almohad conquest virtually razed to the ground the first constructions, but these were replaced by others, many of which can still be admired today, such as the majestic Koutoubia tower, the inspiration for the famous Giralda in Seville, mosques and gardens and the famous
Jamaâ El Fna square a UNESCO Universal Cultural Heritage site.
Visit to the following monuments: Badiâ Palace, The Saâdian tombs, Koutoubia Mosque, Jamaâ El Fna square. Ben Youssef Madrasa (the ancient Quranic school) and Marrakesh Museum.
